How do you get rid of a bad smell coming from a car's A/C vent system?

Take some Lysol disinfectant spray. Run the car's vent system at full blast. With the motor running and vent blowing, spray the Lysol in the intake vents, which are close to the windshield wiper bases. This typically gets rid of the mold and mildew and leaves the passenger compartment smelling fresh and new - for a few weeks at least.

find out where your in cabin filter is located and replace it.....if there is mold on the coils themselves then thats a lot more work.
Reply:It's probably water that has mildewed inside the housing. You could take it to a dealership and they would clean up all the mold growing in there.
Reply:HAVE YOUR RADIATOR FLUSHED.WASHED OUT AND REPLACE YOUR OLD COOLIANT WITH NEW.
Reply:in wiper grille add deorderiser we did it all the time in auto repair shop
Reply:I've had this to happen to me, on my car mold had built up in the vent system. I sprayed Lysol into the system from the outside of the car and the smell went away quickly. I don't know what's in Lysol, but I let my air A/C run a while with the windows open the smell when away.
Reply:If your car has a cabin filter, then have it changed
