My CPU fan was loose, so i opened the box up and and placed the CPU heat/fan on properly. i Closed it up, went into Bios and Noticed a very high system Temp of 60 C. the Fans are all working. I use to get a system temp of some 32-40 C, what migth have went wrong? (CPU Running at 35-40C)(SYSTEM runs all the way up to 60C)
System Running at a High 60 C, how do i fix it?
It's also possible that your heatsink/fan isn't quite securely seated on t he processor. Try reseating it again- it's also possible you may need to clean off the heatsink/processor and re-apply thermal paste (very little is needed, just a small drop or so).
Hmmm. I just read your post again- CPU temp is normal so the heatsink isn't the problem.- you're talking SYSTEM temp. It could be a false reading due to a loose connector, but I'd recommend blowing out the dust inside the case with a can of compressed air, make sure no components are blocking good airflow.
Still, 60C system temp doesn't sound unusual- high-end graphics cards generate quite a bit of heat when running demanding 3d games.
Reply:in the summer, it happens to me all the time, when i have no AC on. every time i play games or any intense programs running, the cpu temp goes up to 60 C. if i close them, it backs to normal.
Reply:Your Thermal past might be disappearing, and you should replace it, also, as time passes, fans tend to die out, if you are looking to keep a cool case, look into watercooling, if your not up to that risk, try some 120mm fans, ie Antec, and Coolermaster make high performance/low noise fans which are ideal in any computer case
Reply:If you moved the heatsink, then you should probably take it off, clean the thermal paste off the cpu and heatsink, then use a very small amount of thermal paste and place the heatsink back on.
And I mean a very small amount, using to much thermal paste actually causes heat build up, which is what you are experiencing now.
Reply:Check this chart out for your answer:

60 C does not seem off base.
Reply:CPU fan heatsink should have thermal heatsink paste to properly transfer heat from cpu to heatsink/fan combo.
