The difference isZe or Zs values.The regs don’t allow use TNCS sys.in detached garage.Supply should be converted into TT.WHY?

Your garage is outside the "normal equipotential zone" therefor if you are supplying power to is as a separate fixed circuit then to guarantee an effective earth you should supply a means of earthing normally an earth rod(TT)You do not have access to the suppliers neutral terminal to connect your own earth to .If you have a socket that is protected by an rcd then it can be used outside no problem the rcd doesn't even have to be on that socket only it could be the main breaker

BS 7671 permits external sockets where RCD protected. On the house wall is still considered to be 'within the equipotential zone'
And while it's also up to the supplier to determine what earthing system you are give; the advantage of TNCS over TNS is that an earth doesn't have to be 'sweated' onto the lead sheath thus removing its (sweating) associated health and safety risks.
And you are breaking the law if you touch anything (Cut-out) owned by the supplier . It is THEIR property, not yours.

It's not my profession so I am just expressing an opinion, but I always grew up working on the principle the shortest route to earth must be through a direct connection and not anything that goes via me or has any likelihood of doing so.
Top question though because I have never quite understood why PME is the preferred option nor why you would even want to rely on a armour sheath TNS to carry your earth back to the transformer via the neutral, which is live as soon as a phase is connected to it. It all gets to be a complex balancing exercise which is easily resolved by connecting the consumer end directly to earth as well.
I always guessed it was a cost cutting exercise to avoid additional cable runs for earth and saved the hassle of driving rods into gas mains etc. in towns
My system is generator and solar but I still have copper rods firmly driven in at all the connecting points.

Reply:go-to start....all programs...accesories....system tools then system restore..... if you go-to restore my system to an earlier time and have a look at the bold dates in the calendar these are the dates that you can go back to...if its a problem because of something installed it should be listed on the right as you go through the days....if you restore and everything is successful don't forget to switch off system restore by right clicking my computer and then properties and taking the tick out of the box....then switching it back on again by putting the tick back in the box as you don't want to have the same problem again.... good luck

If your operating system is on another drive, then you can change the boot drive in the BIOS to that drive. If you're asking if you can boot into your operating system that is located on your C drive without the C drive being active, then no, you can't.

Hello all you all knowing yahoo people. Guess what I leave for the navy today. I have a school question. After bootcamp I go to A-School. But I just now heard of something called C-school a more advanced school or something like that so I guess my question would be How many of these C-schools am I going to take or what? I wana take as much as possible. I also want my first command to be somewere that I can learn the most about my job.

About a System File on my C:\ Drive, why does pagefile.sys appears?
OS: Windows XP SP2
C:\pagefile.sys 737,280kBytes (almost 1GB!)
It seems to be updated every day.
Where does this file come from and why is it needed? I don't think that was originally present.

It is better that you use FAT32 file system in your Drive 'c' also.

Just make sure neither of those drives are recovery partitions for your PC (only common on OEM PCs like Dell and HP etc) and also backup any files/data thats on them, either to a USB stick or an external Hard drive.

These will invoke the native OS calls to do what you want. Its also really ugly. I am hoping someone else gives you a better way to solve this problem!

Reply:I think you're using Oracle or SQL database program on your computer. And the file you mentioned is a database file. You can actually delete this file without affecting your system. However, since this file is a database, you will lose the contents of this database when you delete the file.

other than that, maybe look at saving all the files you need to DVD's or an External drive and rebooting the computer...

People continue to complain about how easy exams are at the moment with A Levels and GCSE, yet at the same time they complain that the education system is failing thousands of children as they fail to achieve 5 A*-C grades at GCSE. So how can it be both to easy and yet unattainable?? As for A Level results, does no one consider the possiblity that maybe the majority do well because they are the ones who did well at school??

About 55% of 16 year olds achieve 5+ A*-C grades in UK, which usually qualifies them to start A levels.
The 95%+ pass rate of A levels makes them look easy, but this isn't the case. Because all A levels are examined in 6 modules over the two years, those students likely to fail find this out early and drop out. Only those likely to pass stay to the end, hence the high pass rate.
Most students who succeed do so because they work hard. Unfortunately, this news doesn't sell papers so the press puts its own spin on exam results.

in countries where I-GCSE are in place like south asia and africa. the kids get to learn A lelvel stuff in in GCSE level. id say they leanr 1 fifth of the a level course in their GCSE. like this, the course is evenly spread out though 5 years of GCSE and 2 years of A level.
in the UK they teach you a litle bit, then the student messes up when he/she attepmts the a levle.

It also belittles the achievements of those who do well, they're never stretched and their A's are dismissed as being commonplace and therefore less valued, and there's no way to know how much better they could have performed with a more demanding test.

My p.c. is infected with spyware..a warning crops up every now an then reminding that my system is infected.?
i have scanned my system with avast,avg and 3 different anti spywares-counterspy,ad-aware,avg anti spyware(all these are free versions i downloaded from the net)

Next you will have to download hijackthis, links below, and run a scan and save the log file. (It's very easy). When the scan is done look down the list of files its shows up and you should be able to find the infected one cos it will have a very peculiar name and should stand out as spyware.
Next, type the name of this file into Google, and you will find a removal tool and instructions on how to delete it.
To me, it sounds like you have been hit with the Vundoo family of infection.

I have a physical C: drive of 80 gig, and an extended partition of 3 gig, which system made boot partition,?
I want to take some of the space from the C: drive and add it to the extended bootable E: drive, so the system can breath a little bit easier.
Does anybody know of any open source software that will allow you to fiddle around with the hard drive and partitions, to change size etc.

Western Digital used to have a formating utility for their drives called EZ drive. Find out what manufacturers hard drive that you have in your system and go to that manufacturers website for help. Any type of "software" that would "play" with these partition sizes would be very suspect towards instability in the system I believe. I could be wrong though. I do not believe this would help your system to breathe any easier though. You are probably better off not doing anything to this drive. I may be easier to add a second hard drive to the system either internally or with a Firewire or USB external drive. Good Luck

I have found that looking at a Pourbaix diagram can help in understanding what is going on when something corrodes. I have provided references for you to look at and understand. One should realize that the diagram can change depending on what is in the system. But in general the basic diagrams give a good idea.
I do not have a Pourbaix diagram for bronze but If you look at the Pourbaix diagram for copper which is best shown in the third reference I provided on the top right corner of page 3 you will see that copper is stable as copper metal below an oxidation potential of -0.6 V throughout the pH range. The greater the negative sign indicates a more reducing environment where a greater positive number indicates a more oxidative environment. For example if magnesium metal was present, magnesium metal is more reactive than copper and would have a lower potential which would keep copper from dissolving but would dissolve magnesium instead. Thus magnesium would be sacrificed during corrosion while in contact with copper, causing galvanic corrosion of magnesium.
Above a potential of -0.6 V, copper metal can be soluble starting at a pH below 7 and a pH above 9 depending on the potential. Such things can cause the potential to increase are the presence of oxidizers such as oxygen, chlorine, or less reactive metals such as 316 stainless steel.
How did I know 316SS is less reactive than copper? Well unless you have a pourbaix diagram for stainless steel you can look at a galvanic series chart like the one I provided to you in the 4th reference.
As you can see 316SS is more noble than copper. However cast iron is below copper. So if copper was in contact with cast iron, the cast iron would preferentially corrode and if in contact with 316SS the copper would preferentially corrode.
However you did not ask about copper you asked about bronze. Well if you look at the galvanic series you will see that 316SS or 304SS is more noble than bronze so the bronze will preferentially corrode.
So the options you have to prevent corrosion are the following:
To prevent galvanic corrosion, put a nonconductor break between the two metals. Companies provide non-conductive isolators for connection piping of dissimilar metals.
To prevent corrosion due to pH, try to keep the pH within the range of 7 to 9. Even if the copper was in contact with the copper the copper oxide protective layer will be stable within that pH range. Note though that some metal oxide layers are not as strong as others. Some can be removed by abrasion allowing for more corrosion to occur.

If you can hear the fan running and nothing is happening then either the cable is broken or the flex hoses are disconnected under the dash. You can buy new hose and replace them if that is the cause. Also, check under the hood because chevy uses tiny little vacuum hoses that can come undone! You'll see them they are about 1/8" in diameter and you will see them going to various aspects of the heater and AC system. Just check all of them to make sure they are not damaged or disconnected. Make sure your valve is opening and closing in the heater hose for cold and hot air temp.

Does the A/C compressor come on when providing heat with a heat pump heating system?
From another post I have determined I have a heat pump heating system (I have Em. Heat setting for forced electric heat). If I put on Em. Heat or turn the thermostat much higher than the current temperature, it works fine because it is being heated electrically . Once I put it down to a reasonable temperature, it recirculates room temp air 95% of the time. Two times, however, the A/C compressor kicked on and the heat stayed working when I turned it down below a temperature which forced the electric heat. If I remember my thermodynamics correctly, the heat pump cycle has a compressor in it. Am I correct that for the heat pump to actually provide heat, the compressor has to be working?
When it was summer, the compressor worked fine most of the time, but there sometimes it would not kick on as it should. It almost never kicks on in heat mode.
I rent so I would like to be as specific with my landlord about my problem as possible. Should I tell her this is the problem with my heat?

Whether you can explain it to the landlord or not is a different question. If it is not maintaining temperature when it should be heating, then that is the problem to report as more detail is likely to confuse. For example, if you set to 70 and the temp drops to 65, then report that.
The reason that a heat pump is efficient for heating is that the compressor is used to move heat from outside air, making it cooler, to inside air, making it warmer. Yes, the compressor has to be working to do this. Modern heat pumps are usually two stage with a quieter running mode for temps near room temp and a noiser high output mode for faster cooling or heating. Because there is too little heat in really cold air to raise the temp quickly, they have electric coils which use a lot more power than the compressor for the same Btu's moved.

Usually electric heat is added as a supplemental heat in case of a malfunction, quick response time needed, or very cold outside conditions.
The unit is made to run most of the time, so your estimate of 95% run time is possibly accurate and normal.
I believe you would be best to talk to your landlord about a possible problem, and then talk to the service tech. of their choice before a service call is ordered. They may have you watch for a certain behavior which could save additional service calls and allow them to be more prepared when they do come.

If you turn it to heat the outside unit puts out cool air. And yes the compressor is supposed to run. It is supposed to do this. also the compressor is supposed to be off for at least 2 minutes before starting it again. This allows the the head pressure to stabilize.

Rumor mills certainly are not reliable %26amp; there are 'authorities' without the ability to find their back side with both hands! As a platoon Sergeant, surrounded by daily random urine testings, according to all the 'scuddlebutt' I've heard, massive quantities (gallons) of grapefruit juice are required to perge the human system of toxins such as THC, Cocaine, tobacco, heroin, methanphetimine %26amp; alcohol. As indicated by other reports, the standard 'one nighter' residue would stay about a month in the system without the massive quantities of grapefruitjuice. This MIGHT be shortened to 2 weeks with massive quantities, depending on metabolizum %26amp; other dietary factors. Then again, it might not! As indicated by other reports, the standard 'one nighter' residue would stay about a month in the system without the massive quantities of grapefruitjuice. This MIGHT be shortened to 2 weeks with massive quantities, depending on metabolizum %26amp; other dietary factors. Then again, it might not! The lack of responses here reinforce the idea that nobody really knows! I'd suspect everybody is a little different %26amp; every user might react differently to the same standard. It doesn't matter how much water you drink. It will remain in your system until it is fully metabolized. I believe that current tests can detect it in your system for a couple of weeks.

Civic 93 A/C doenst cool in Idle. With 2000 RPM cool a little. The compressor clutch and system is ON! Im sure
. Refrigerant Pressures: LOW = 45 Psi, HIGH = a bit more than 200 psi in idle.
2. Pressures below that, the A/C doesnt cool at all.
3. Dryer filter new.
4. When the car is Idle no cooling.
5. When engine is at 2K RPM or above, cool a little.
6. With the car moving around 30 MPH or above, cool a little better.
7. All above if I turn my A/C on with the car in low temperature and NEXT I go to a hot, sunny place.
8. If I turn my a/c on after the car was parket in sun, no cooling for a long time.
9. THe compressor clutch is engaged. The system in ON. THe car is less powerful (means the A/C compressor is ON).
10. Idle RPM from 700 to 800.
11. I put 65 psi of refrigerant... started to cool a little better, but weak yet. With 65 psi I cant accel... THe compressor goes off.
12. With 65 psi I can feel the alumunium conector freezing and with water...
13. I turned the pressure back to 45 psi. If not, the compressor would go off every second.
Anyone can Help me?

For starters it sounds like you may have turned a minor issue into a much larger more expensive one. Screwing around with the amount of refrigerant in the system is not a great idea. It's probably full of air at this point.
The initial cause for lack of cooling was most likely due to a loose belt (causing the compressor not to work at capacity), air in the cooling system, or a worn out compressor. The increased idle/driving corresponding with a "bit" cooler air indicates one of the above conditions.
To correct the problem you need to inspect the belt on the compressor. If it's loose, tighten it. Then take the car to a shop and let them purge the entire cooling system (pushes all old refrigerant out and replaces with new refrigerant/sealant). This will run between $40 and $70 depending on how much refrigerant your system can hold.
The do-it yourself R134-A canisters purchased at auto parts store have caused waaaay more problems than they've solved. Just holding the can improperly can cause massive amounts of air to get into your cooling system. I probably purged and refilled 40-50 systems this summer because of those damn do-it yourself cans!

hopefully you got a win xp or 2000 cd put the cd in boot from the cd then select repair when prompted this should take care of your problem.

Can quarantined Trojan virus files still hurt my computer? Norton cannot delete b/c its in System 32 folder?
Norton Antivirus 2006 found some Trojan viruses during a scan. Norton could not delete the files, because "access was denied." I think that this is because the Trojon virus was in the Windows/system32 directory. I tried to use windows explorer to manually delete these files, but I just got an error message saying that I was not allowed to delete them.
So . . . is it okay to just leave these items quarantined on my computer? Will it hurt anything? If I should delete them, how do I do so?
I already tried following the directions on the Symantic web site, which did not help.
I need a detailed response with directions, please.

Try to scan in safe mode with network.
Tap F8 when booting your computer. Choose safe mode with network.
Start in safe mode with network.
Start -%26gt; Run: type iexplore http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html... (Enter/OK)
Scan your computer.
If you find something; delete it. Restart and do the same again. When the scanner finds nothing this scan is finish.
Reboot again in safe mode with network.
Start -%26gt; Run: type iexplore http://www.ewido.com/en (Enter/OK)
Scan your computer.
If you find something; delete it. Restart and do the same again. When the scanner find nothing this scan is finish.
Now you can reboot to normal mode.
*NOTE: Do not surf the net or open any programs when doing this scans. This because you can start spyware/adware/viruses manually.

Find that file again the same way you did earlier, and this time, hold shift, and push delete as the file is highlighted. This is a completely skip recycle bin and other stuff, just delete it way of deleting stuff. =D Just don't forget to hold shift as you press delete, otherwise it will do a normal delete, which didn't work for you.

get a rad key from a diy store and locate the bleed point on your rad turn the key and water will come out, make sure you have a bowl and some towels ready it may get messy, when the water comes out in a steady flow , no gurgles, rad is bled, tighten back up with key and your done

I do not have a startup disk and am trying to avoid restoring to factory settings. I can get an A:\%26gt; prompt but can not get a C: prompt. I can also get into Phoenix Bios but don't know what to do. Can anyone HELP please? I need some step by step instructions if anyone is kind enough to share their knowledge.

If you are booting from a floppy it will not recognise the c: drive if c: is ntfs. Don't play eith the bios if the machine is booting as far as the file not found warning, the hard drive is being detected correctly to get this far.

I don't know anything about the S.C. plan but if it's anything like Washington's then they have likely added a new plan that has a larger defined contribution portion (you contribute) and a smaller defined benefit portion (they pay). And, my guess is they are offering you a pretty bonus to switch from the old plan to the new plan....
If that's the case then I'd run...You are likely gonna retire at 30 years. That's not enough time to build up a reasonable balance. Better to keep the plan you have and be secure in knowing you'll get that retirement check each month. I'd also start investing heavily in your 403(b) so that you have a retirement income to access between the time you retire and start drawing on your pension. The longer you can push that first pension payment out the larger the payment will be.
People younger than you...40 years old and teaching for 10 years? They might benefit from the switch as their income can compound long enough to overcome the pension loss.

ive heard several times now about people using there a/c condencers to pump the tanks full for the airride system i have a 66 lincoln continental and need over 150 psi to raise the car

Its a 1986 model. Works great. Looks like hell though. I am replacing it and have someone that wants to buy my old one.
