Whats a used complete A/C and heating system worth?

Its a 1986 model. Works great. Looks like hell though. I am replacing it and have someone that wants to buy my old one.

i would sell it to him no warranty $600 i sell used condensers all the time don't like doing it they usually don't last long
Reply:Boy thats a good one. In reality if he's willing to take it off your hands, be happy. If you had to dispose of it it would co$t you a bit because you would have to take it to a place and pay to have the freon removed from the system. So if he offers you a hundred bucks say to him"SOLD!"

20 years old only good for scrap metal.
Reply:It's worth nothing more than scrap value, unfortunately scrap yards wont take it unless the refrigerant has been removed professionally.
Reply:Give it to him for what scrap value would be with no warranty.My guess would be 50 bucks. I don't ever sell used ones, I give them away free, but do what you want.

Reply:If your going to sell it make sure you list the proper size for both the furnace and a/c unit. SIZE is extremely important and the buys needs to know that. Oversizing a HVAC system can cause equipment failure and undersizing will not heat/cool the house.


As far as price is concerned ask what you believe is fair. If you get $500 for both units consdier yourself lucky.
