How do i put refridrerant in my lexus sc400 a/c system?
In some states you need a Certification to buy the material Odds are it will cost less to pay some one than to buy the equipment.
Reply:Go to your local parts retailer and find a can of R134 refrigerant with a lubricant and self-contained guage and hose. Do not overpressurize the system.

There are two sides to the AC system, a high and low pressure side. The can will only fit on the correct side. Follow the directions on back of the can

.

Lastly, In newer cars there are different refrigerants than in older cars. Do not mix them. (Newer cars are 134A older are R12)

Also don't smoke while filling your a/c. Any flame produces an odorless toxin.

The safest way is to go to a garage.
Reply:Adding refrigerant to an auto is tricky. You have to have the right tools, especially to make sure that you don't overload the system with refrigerant, which will cause the seals in the air compressor to blow- causing you more aggravation and $$$$ than you can imagine. It needs to be tested to see if there is any refrigerant left in the system. If there is all you have to do is add the ref. If there is no ref. in the system, it has to be evacuated and leak check put in the system to see if there is a leak. No leaks? Then you can start adding ref. All this takes special tools to evacuate and recharge. I don't recommend it for an amateur!I don't believe you need a license to buy 134A.
