it says when i start my comp it says "windows cannot find ''C:\WINDOWS\system\ulipywd\lsass.exe'' make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again, to search for a file, click the start button, and then click search it comes up in 2 different boxes that after i close them twice, they leave and dont reappear until i turn it off and back on, any ideas? is this a virus? or spyware?

When i start my comp it says "windows cannot find ''C:\WINDOWS\system\ulipywd\ls... why is this?
Well, your system IS corrupted for SOME reason. It COULD possibly be a malware infestation or maybe just needs to be re-installed.
Reply:sounds like a trojan program found its way onto your computer and has embedded itself into the registry startup.

best way to handle this is boot up in safe mode, find the filename, rename it to something else, start up regular, windows boxes will say file not found,

clean out your cookies file, and find a registry program to clean up your registry, "Registry Checker" is very good.
Reply:I would guess you recently deleted a file that was being used by an application on startup. You'll have to figure out what application is trying to access it and remove it or reinstall it.

You can go to start-%26gt;run and type in msconfig. Switch over to the Startup tab and try filtering out some startup apps until you find it. Hope this helps.
Reply:Well, when it lives in the windows\system32 directory, it's legitimate. In your case, it's a virus, trojan, or something else evil. It's in your startup list, but the actual program can't be found; that's why you're getting the message.

You could try editting your startup list and removing it. (Make sure you get the right one!) Start--%26gt;Run--%26gt;msconfig (assuming you're windows xp)

Safer and better would be to get some antivirus and antispyware and run the scans to remove the garbage.
Reply:kindly put ur windows Xp cd into the CD rom and try to click on r buttuon. Finally the Os will try to retrieve the file from cd and will copy it to the existing location . finally ur problem will be solved.
